Chulu Peak Climbing

Chulu East Peak is one of the highest among the trekking peaks in Nepal. It lies in Manang Himal between the remote rain shadow areas of gorgeous Annapurna Himalaya range. The peak Chulu East Peak and Chulu West forms an integral part of the Manang Himal, which, in turn, is included in the larger Damodar Himal.
It requires 4 to 6 days climbing period from Base Camp to the summit. There are lots of crevasses between Chulu Far East and East, so you need lot of fixed rope until north ridge. We begin our trip driving from Kathmandu to Besishar, a classical Annapurna circuit trekking route and follow the Marshyangdi Khola(River) through a variety of landscapes and cultural villages. The trail gently climbs up to higher villages to get the best acclimatization possible till you reach Pisang at 3200m altitude. As the route leads closer to the Tibet border, you have a fantastic insight of the Tibetan culture with ancient Buddhist temples and Tibetan villages. When you fully acclimatize, the camp is set at lower base camp. You have splendid views of the snow-capped peaks and the rocky slopes. After taking some rest you climb higher to High Camp from where you attempt your summit next day. When you summit the top, you have a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding peaks. Return to Base Camp and trek down towards the Kali Gandaki valley. Chulu East Peak climbing trip is really challenging and demands that each participant be well experienced in alpine snow climbing skills.
